When deciding among the alternatives, consider recovery time. You may not always get the time you need off from work. Procedures, such as a glycolic or AHA skin peels, offer shorter recovery times, but may need to be repeated to achieve the results of other techniques. Some procedures must be done by professionals, and cost a lot more. With other treatments you can do them at the dermatologist, spa or at home. Having the procedure done by a dermatologist is an obvious choice because of safety. The downside is the cost.
